Sunriver Oregon is a place worth remembering, you will want to come back year after year. We bought our house after renting houses for vacations every year for ten years. Sunriver is located 10 miles South of Bend in Central Oregon and is known as the Northwest’s favorite year-round family recreation and vacation spot. You can enjoy 36 holes of championship golf, over 38 miles of bike paths, whitewater rafting, canoeing, tennis, horseback riding, organized children’s, teen and family programs, alpine and cross-country skiing on Mt. Bachelor, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, and a fine variety of shops and restaurants.  To help you enjoy these activities there are adult mountain bikes for you to use on the paved bike paths, ski racks in the garage, and a soak in the hot tub. There is no better way to enjoy the wealth of activities that Sunriver and Central Oregon offer than staying in Hickory House.

The fine people at Discover Sunriver Vacation Rentals take care of our home when we are away, and take care of our renting guests to ensure pleasant stays in Sunriver.

The house sleeps 12. Every bed is Queen/King length and features the very best pillow mattresses (we wouldn't settle for less in our dream home).

The kitchen is a joy - it features a double oven, microwave oven, gas cooktop, super quiet dishwasher (people open it when it is running - worried it is not working), refrigerator with ice/water on the door. Settings for twelve, wine glasses, lots of serving bowls, Calphalon non-stick pots & pans, lots of gadgets (breadmaker, veggie steamer, coffee grinder).

The family room has an entertainment center with surround sound, VCR and DVD player. We have left a few DVDs and VHS tapes for your pleasure - and more can be rented from stores in Sunriver.

The den has a TV with a VCR as well, and is often a favorite hiding spot for children when we visit. 

Two of the bedrooms are master suites with their own bathrooms and private access to the back deck (BBQ grill and the hottub).

The hottub has a wonderful arm which lifts the top effortlessly.

The fireplace is real - but we have put a very nice gas log in it. Besides being easy and warm - has none of the mess and fuss of building a fire with wood. For most of us, that makes the fireplace something we turn on everytime we are cold (enough to make you want to turn down the house temperature!).

We have decorated the house with photographs from Oregon photographers, petrified wood from Oregon and prepared by Oregon artists, and quilts from Oregon and elsewhere. We add and change things from time to time.

We have four adult bicycles at the house, each on a service program to keep them working even if you drive over a nail (although we've never had that problem in Sunriver). There is also a full size washing machine, clothes dryer, iron, high chair and fold away play pen/baby crib.

The back deck is an ideal place for a sitting outside for a meal cooked inside or on the outdoor gas grill (a copy of Betty Crocker and a BBQ cookbook are in the house). The deck is shaded in the afternoon and sunny in the morning. A combination which is hard to beat in August. Deer frequent the backyard, you are almost sure to see them on your visit.
